Oxidation:
Dull and faded gel-coat. Gel-coat is a porous, colored resin finish on your boat and is only about 20 mils thick (about 5 sheets of office paper). It is subjected to acid rain, bird droppings, UV rays, and plain old dirt. Let it go unprotected and it fades, looks dull, is much harder to clean, and loses its overall luster. The easiest way to protect it and prevent it from looking dull and faded is with a good coat of wax! Let Pro Glow protect it or bring it back to life with one of our proven methods. Soap Sense:
Always use a soap made specifically for boats. Leave the Cascade, Fantastic, Palmolive, and Simple Green at home. Household products may work short term, but over time they can damage gel-coat and strip that coat of wax right off. Most of these products are highly alkaline with a pH level of 12 to 14. Most boat soaps have a pH of about 7 and are safe to use on gel-coat surfaces. Still, some boat soaps strip wax, so read the directions carefully and dilute accordingly.
